Hooksett PTA Scholarship

The Hooksett PTA Scholarship Fund was established in the spring of 2004 to assist Hooksett students in furthering their secondary education. The PTA will be granting one scholarship in the amount of $500.00. The purpose of this scholarship is to recognize a Hooksett student who has demonstrated community involvement through volunteer efforts and/or local program participation. The community or program that you are involved with does not have to be in Hooksett. The PTA recognizes the importance of academic achievement; however, it is your community service that will be the primary qualifying factor for this scholarship.

Eligibility Requirements

  • The student must be a graduating high school senior who will be enrolled full time in a post secondary school.

  • The student must be a graduate of David R. Cawley Middle School and have attended school in the Hooksett system for a minimum of 6 years.

  • The student must be a current resident of Hooksett, NH

  • The student must have applied or been accepted to a post-secondary school and must attend said school for the 2021-2022 school year.

  • The student must provide a brief essay (500 words or less) describing all community service involvement and or program participation, including number of hours/days and types of activities in which you were involved. The student must provide at least 2 letters of recommendation, one of which should be from a civic organization or other agency in whose programs you participated.

    Selection of Recipient

  • Though academic grades and/or high school transcripts may be included with this application, and a “C” or better average is desirable, the selection process will heavily weigh on the student’s community service involvement.

  • Other factors that may be considered in the selection process include scholastic, extracurricular, leadership, club and athletic activities that you were involved in at school. The committee would also like to know of any employment positions that you have held.

  • Financial need is not a requirement.

  • Recipient must provide 1st semester grades with a GPA of 3.0 from college/university prior to receiving scholarship monies.
